• In Late 2005, NRCS authorized a grant to the MFCD which enabled the MFCD to hire Kimley Horn to perform an Individual Structure Assessment Report and an Alternatives Analysis of the MFRS. These reports were completed in May and June of 2006 respectively see Reports and Exhibits page. Completion of these reports marked the first milestone of two milestones which would accurately identify the Improvements and Repairs required to address the safety deficiencies facing the MFRS.
• In Late 2006, the MFCD entered into a Joint Development Agreement (“JDA”) with two landowners that agreed to front the money needed by the MFCD to reach the 2nd milestone in accurately identifying the Improvements and Repairs required to address the safety deficiencies facing the MFRS. The JDA then enabled the MFCD to hire AMEC Earth & Environmental (“AMEC”) to obtain all of the foundational engineering data that would be the basis for designing the needed Improvements and Repairs as well as to analyze the various options and to identify the most cost effective approach. AMEC is currently about 2/3rds of the way complete with this scope of work and anticipates having a report on or before October, 2007 – which would complete the 2nd milestone.
• Design of the needed Improvements and Repairs would represent a 3rd milestone. Until reaching the 2nd milestone a reliable timeline for the 3rd milestone can not be provided, but the engineers are preliminarily estimating a 10 month design process.
• Approval of Design and receipt of a construction permit would represent the 4th milestone. Currently we are estimating a six month review and permit time frame.
• The 5th and final milestone would be completion of construction of the Improvements and Repairs. Currently we are estimating a 5 month construction time frame.
*Note: Completion of the above milestones are entirely dependant upon receiving additional funding to 1) finalize the design, and 2) construct the repair.
